Life is a Challenge!

FLOWER FRIDAY AND BCAM 2024, DAY 4

We do have rather a lot of pink flowers in our garden, and they range from pale pink to deep pink. I took shots of all those that were pink and varying shades of pink/purple and they include Dahlia, Sedum, Hydrangea, Japanese Anemone, Cosmos, Chrysanthemum, Echinacea, Hollyhock and Verbena Bonariensis.  There are other flowers too, just in case you were wondering!

I looked up the various names of the shades of pink and found there are over 225 shades of pink, and possibly more, some with the following names:

Salmon pink, Shocking pink, Rose pink, Fuchsia pink, Raspberry pink, Flamingo pink, Orchid pink, Lavender pink, Pastel pink, Magenta, Peachy pink, Coral pink, Bubblegum pink, Ballet Slipper pink - for Mambo - and even Barbie pink - to name a few!  Who knew there were so many?

I think the shade of pink of this particular geranium would probably be called Magenta and I rather liked it with the dewdrops on it - however, we couldn’t find the proper name for it, but it is very pretty, even with no name!

It certainly fits in with Flower Friday and is great for Breast Cancer Awareness Month - and I think you know what to do by now - please click on this LINK so that those who cannot afford to pay for a mammogram can have a free one - and as I said yesterday, if you live in the UK, take advantage of the fact that you CAN have a free one and book an appointment.

Hope you all have a great weekend - our son in Vietnam sent a newspaper cutting to say there could be snow here - I think he enjoys taunting us - but reading the article, it will probably be in the north of Scotland - so we don’t need to get out the sledges down here just yet!  M xx
