horns of wilmington's cow

Whitby

After Malton for brunch (would be a lovely place but for it basically being a car park) we headed to Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby (both lovely, but both really busy!).

Came away with a Gansey from Bertie’s of the Bay (lovely chap in the shop giving us the history, and nice to have inadvertently chosen the pattern with a Scottish link - also now found out the shop is named after his cat, so going to have to get a shot with one of our three…); lunch at Trenchers in Whitby was a retro joy (and just had to be Whitby Scampi).

Inland tomorrow on our last day for some abbey visits (and possibly a TV ‘set’ if there’s time).

We’d already realised we needed to come back to do this place justice. Even more so after today…
