Thursday: Blue Sky & Autumn Colours
Woke up at 7am when the heating comes on - quite a chilly morning with clear blue sky and no wind.
After breakfast I cleared around the pots collecting all the wet leaves and compost to mulch around the blueberry bushes, having first tidied Aquilegia leaves and the purple Verbena bonariensis, taking cuttings of the verbena. The Robin was around but hasn’t become trusting enough to come too close yet :-)
MrD had gone off to the mountains, with a flask of homemade coffee - with extra sugar, it was pretty chilly there! When he came home, he had lunch then went for a walk to the beach and round his usual route.
I sat outside briefly, it was beginning to get cooler and noticed that the leaves of the Horse Chestnut are changing colour … Autumn is here!
