Sally Mair - Loving life

Food parcels!

Church this morning and I was very happy to see that the heating programmes I'd set last week had worked, I also remembered to set it to come on for this evening's Vestry meeting.
I headed home after church for a quick lunch in time to receive a phone call asking if I could help out in the charity shop as someone had phoned in sick and the manager would be in alone. I did!
Now, after a three hour shift, I definitely know how to operate the till - most of the time in any case! There are still a few things that I'm not sure about.
In the meantime Colin had waited in for the plumber, who in fact was not the same one as came last time. I remain unimpressed by the first one who had left us till last on his list today in spite of the fact that this was the second full day we had spent waiting for him to come. Clearly our time is cheap. I don't know what we were supposed to have done if we had still been employed. Today's plumber picked up our job as a result and was much more effective and pleasant......the flush is fixed and the airlock in the system repaired, much to our delight.
Vestry meeting this evening, we are starting to get things in place for both our AGM and running things through the vacancy period.
Our dinner tonight was courtesy of Isobel who made a pasta bake for her family and an additional dish for us. I see my habit of cooking for the family has been passed on.
It was delicious.
