On This Day

Ships that pass

I was in the pool at 06:30 this morning. It was already busy but I managed to swim for a while and enjoyed the exercise.

After breakfast we set off for the Whitchurch arm of the Llangollen canal and a bit of the Shropshire way. We walked to a rather underwhelming cafe then back into the town to one which was so much better.

The canal was busy with boats and we watched hydraulic bridges being raised and lowered to allow them to pass. We managed to get a bit lost on the return walk. Talking too much,  but it all worked out well in the end. We walked about 9 miles.

I'm about to go for a cup of tea with my friends then it'll be time to get ready for our last dinner together this trip.

It has been so much fun. Whitchurch is a really pleasant  wee town and everyone is SO FRIENDLY. Even the golfers when we wandered, lost, across the course.

Tomorrow I'll be setting off home but not before more non stop chat.
