Pseudo Sunflowers

Every year these pseudo sunflowers erupt in our garden. They spread via rhizomes and every year I pull a load of them out but they then re-proliferate the next year at an alarming rate. They are obviously an Autumn flowering plant and are not sunflowers, but I have no idea what they actually are. Anybody know?
