The boys of Summer.

Today:
Rain falling.
A grey veil drawn over the corpse of summer. Memories of heat still fresh,
yet those too,
soon will fade
under Autumn's moist riot of decay.

47 years ago today we were wed. That day was fresh and clear. We pledged our troth, my auburn-haired Queen of Autumn and I. The seed was strong, the tree grows tall still, the saplings flourish about it's roots.

"And I can can tell you my love for you will still be strong, after the boys of summer have gone."
