How Greene is my library

One hundred and twenty years ago today in 1904, Graham Greene was born in Berkhamstead, Hertfordshire. As I grew up studying a number of his novels in school, I suppose I have an affection for him, hence this blip.

He is also considered to be one of the greatest literary figures of the twentieth century and hopefully, you have heard of some of his books inc:

The Power and the Glory
Stamboul Train
Our Man in Havana
The Third Man
The Quiet American
The Honorary Council
The Ministry of Fear
Travels with My Aunt
Dr. Fischer of Geneva
etc.

So, when I came up with this idea to blip Graham Greene, and not finding of his books on our bookshelf (we do have some somewhere!), I decided to go the the library … guess what?

Turns out that they had none as ‘there is little demand for these type of novels’ in Musselburgh (but they could transfer some from Dunbar, North Berwick or Haddington … tells you a lot about our and the other towns, lol). That said, they could supply ‘This is Me’ by Katie Price … mmm.

Anyway, this meant that I had no blip as yet, so off I went to Waterstones, fifteen minutes up the road to Fort Kinnaird shopping park, which as you can see had a fine selection by Mr. Greene.

Have a good day all.
