Row of shops
A good crop of #Leithwalkshops, several of which I have previously blipped, although not the Vietnamese street food place Bami.
I actually sussed this blip yesterday, when I got off the tram at Balfour Street. But I was more interested in blipping the strange conveyance.
As I cycled back in the dark today, I decided to stop at the tram stop and capture this photo again, and use it this time, not least as I had bugger all else to blip....it not having been a very exciting day.
I had an early meeting over towards the West End, with AL joining myself and CB to talk a bit about the future. I followed up later with an email. Many moving parts to that particular jigsaw. My only other formal meeting was online, and involved offering someone a job, who straight away accepted. Oh, I like that style!
I worked in my office for the rest of the day, and had occasional catch ups with my office next door neighbour and key co-worker, sorting out a few knotty problems, and updating her on a couple of things. I was going out for dinner and I thought of going home, ditching the bike and getting the bus back in, but somehow I ran out of time for that, so went straight to Thistle Street, to meet IW, with whom I was at university 45 years ago, for dinner. He's at a conference in Edinburgh, and had an evening to spare. It was lovely to catch up with him.
I last saw him and his wife, also an old student friend, 6 years ago at our most recent College reunion. Mr A and I visited them in Cambridge in May 2010 (according to my emails), but that was just before I joined blip, so there is no photographic record. I think that was the same weekend, however, when Mr A and I met my sister and brother / sister in law in Norfolk and we stayed in one of the worst hotels / pubs we've ever stayed in Lenwade. I think it was also the same trip to East Anglia when Mr A and I stayed with some other university friends of mine whose house was basically part of Newmarket Race Course. I'm so sad I wasn't blipping then, because I would have so much better records of these things. Instead, I have to rely on my rather compendious email records, plus I do have written diaries going back that far, and then google searching based on those fragmentary memories to see what the internet throws up. I end up down rabbit holes when I start thinking back like that....
