Strange creature

This is the quatrovelo, made by Velomobiel, which appears to be a Dutch company. According to their website, "A velomobile is a human-powered vehicle for everyday use that offers comfort, weather protection and luggage space. A velomobile should be practical to use, but must also be fast. The human body has very limited power output. A fast bike is also a bike that reaches a reasonable speed with little effort. Therefore with a velomobile one can cover larger distances and a commute of 20 to 30 km is very well possible." Here is it in Tain, where it is obviously being used for touring not commuting. Very striking and quite funky, but to be honest not a vehicle I would want to pilot.

Edit: N on Facebook says that this vehicle has been spotted several times over the last few months in the Lake District and on the West Coast of Scotland, but clearly its ultimate destination was Lorndogs in Tain, where it was parked when I saw it.

Another "travelling back to Edinburgh" Monday. Work through the day, down to the station, and onto the train. Hang around in Inverness waiting for the Edinburgh train (a Glasgow one involving two further changes goes earlier, but the "two further changes" puts me off). Off the train in Haymarket, and hopefully onto a tram. Some glitches in that system this time, as the signals were not working properly and the tram was delayed (and kept disappearing from the app). And it was only running to Balfour Street, which meant a walk through the park in the dark. It honestly doesn't really bother me, but it is very quiet at that time. It does take a while door to door by foot and public transport, but it's better than the "dead" time in the car.
