Caerketton Craigs and the T-Wood
A dull morning. I do a wee daunder around the park before morning coffee. Quite quiet. Partner goes out before lunch as she is hoping to get rid of a few things at a destash market.
After lunch, I made my way up to Swanston. At the top of the village, the sun struggled to pierce through a persistent layer of high clouds. Continuing the ascent, I tackled Allermuir Hill, the view of which has been documented in a previous blip. The route is a sequence of steep climbs interspersed with brief level stretches for respite. The summit stands at 493m, 1617ft above sea level, though my journey didn't begin at the sea level. A brisk breeze provided relief, and the sunlight remained diffused. An additional photo, Extra, captures the southward view from the peak, showcasing the Pentland Hills. I then headed towards Dreghorn, favouring the gentler descent. A mistake on a path led me astray, SO I ended up paralleling the bypass en route to Swanston Rd.. It was a longer and more rugged hike than usual, but a valuable test for my hip. I returned home around 4:30, ready to relax with coffee and mini chocolate orange segments.
