It’s Early. I Know.
But there it was in the middle of the restaurant, an arresting tableau, so what’s a Blipper to do?
We had an action-packed day of errands and projects begun (but none completed, alas). Started shopping for a new bed. Sigh. Then took the broken window blind to the shop only to find that they don’t have, nor can they get, the mechanism that makes the thing open and close. Scheduled an appointment to get measured for a replacement. (Sidenote: it is against federal law to manufacture blinds with strings anymore. Child safety issue. All blinds must now open and close by lifting a handle attached to the bottom slat.) Stopped at the door shop to discuss a complicated issue of a leaky door and possible solutions—no resolution, but lots more to think about.
In the middle of all that was a tasty lunch with all those skeleton parts. At some point we realized it was hella hot. We were riding around in an air conditioned car, or wandering in comfortable buildings, but the in between parts were thick and steamy. At home the high reached 96 degrees by mid-afternoon. I hate to think how bad it must have been inland. We’re in for it for the rest of the week I think.
So, research begun. Too many variables and decisions. I fear the outcome will be sleeping on a lumpy bed by a leaky door, but I will try to do better than that.
