James, his medals, Ella and Sandy

I woke at 7 and turned on my podcast. Next thing I knew it was 9.30. What is going on?! I know we’ve had a busy time but still…,

I did a bit more of the Blurb book then we went to Whitley Bay. The boys were chilling out on a computer game after rugby (Thomas) and football (James) so we were able to have a good catch up with #2 daughter before #3 arrived. She’d been at the medical drop-in centre for 3 hours waiting to get Nathaniel’s earache checked. Turns out his eardrum had perforated so he got antibiotics. Ella has a cold. She didn’t have any chat but petted Sandy.

James has had a good start at middle school, having been chosen to take part in a cross-country event for North and Soutj Tyneside schools and in the Under 11 age group he came 3rd out of 80-100 kids. His teacher was pleased with his behaviour and attitude so that’s an encouraging start for him. He showed us his bronze medal.

We drove straight to Alnwick to have supper with Lynne and Gavin. It was lovely to see them and catch up on gardens, family, books, politics (the duke!), our trip, theatre, films - and also eat Lynne’s delicious cooking.
