Late Bloomer

In spring, I planted several plants of Morning Glory, but they all got eaten by slugs - or so I thought. One has obviously survived after all, grown into the fig tree, and produced one flower last week (when it rained), and one today. It‘s curiously pale, perhaps from the cold temperatures, but I am impressed by its persistence.

I enjoyed this quiet Sunday and didn’t do much (apart from gardening in the afternoon). Last night, P and I went to the nearby restaurant Himmelreich with its pretty view over the Rhine valley. It was just warm enough to sit outside, probably for the last time this year, and we watched the sunset from the restaurant terrace (see extra).

Right now, I am reading the news from out neighbour country Austria. The far-right and aggressively anti-migrant party FPÖ has just won the national elections there.
It‘s scary. Nazis and their disinformation campaigns are winning majorities everywhere lately.
