Limpias
More sorting out cupboards and checking who wants what this morning. We’ve got so many things to bring back now that we’ll have to come back en route to our ferry home from Bilbao at the end of October!
In the afternoon, we visited the nearby village of Limpias (on the river Ason). It was a really popular pilgrimage spot in the 1920s (more pilgrims than Rome apparently) because of its allegedly miraculous crucifix. I didn’t spot any miracles today but it is a beautiful church and village to visit. It’s also renowned for its churros and chocolate. Churros and rabas (northern Spanish version of calamares) are two of my favourite things and I enjoyed them both today.
