Last Holiday Saturday

There was a portable sauna at the slip this morning with the Selkies having the use of it from 9am-10am. The sunny weather played a part in its success with the ladies tripping in and out of the sea to warm up in the steam , 6 at a time although I definitely counted 7 squeezed in together at one point.

Although the forecast hadn’t been too encouraging the sunshine lasted all morning until about 2pm by which time I was relaxing in one of the Selkie’s houses in Outertown, a suburb of Stromness high up behind the town with the most marvellous view over the Hoy Sound. Her husband had made a very tasty pea risotto and that washed down with Prosecco and then followed by cheesecake and coffee demanded some down time. Can you call a conversation eclectic or would you say it was wide ranging?  Whatever, we had a very jolly discussion on all sorts of subjects.
It was a lovely way to spend lunchtime on a Saturday  and we didn’t notice the point when the clouds took over- no rain though and a very calm sea.

I’m back in my little flat now and having read the paper and written this blog it’s time to continue my crochet marathon before I have to send all my yarn by mail down home because it certainly won’t fit in my case.
