Nightsleeper - not

An afternoon train journey on the west coast line passed off without incident - unlike the highly improbable (but still exciting) BBC Series about a sleeper journey on the west coast line.

The train was quiet, comfortable, clean, not crowded and on time. It took an hour less than driving to Lancaster and a five minute walk got me to the family home.

On the train I was able to move around and managed to capture the viaduct just south of Shap. See extra.

There was much less movement and more concentration as our grandson got to grips with the jigsaw I had brought with me. Not quite mastered the need to turn pieces over to make them fit but he’s getting there. He has fairly grown in the past few weeks and is now nearly 19 months old!
