Selfie On A Stick, Pluckley

Today we thought we'd go for a micro trip to Faversham. However, the weather dictated otherwise. It absolutely poured it down for most of the morning and continued to do so as we set out so we changed our plans and headed to somewhere nearer instead, Charing. It's lovely, very characterful village to walk around but unfortunately it's also as quiet as a grave on a wet Thursday lunchtime. It's one of those places that is very much a commuter village as it's station lies on the main rail route between London and Ashford.
Our next thought was to head home via Pluckley. By the time we got there we were both thirsty and hungry so we popped in to the Black Horse pub in the village for lunch (we'd never been there before). It's over three hundred years old and parts of it date form even earlier in the 15th Century. It was very atmospheric inside but the welcome was a bit non-committal. However, my brother decided to break our rules for pubs (see my blip from two days ago) we've never visited before and ordered us a small plate each to go with our beer. The food was great and the beer lovely so we will visit again and hope for a slightly warmer welcome!
Today's image was taken in the churchyard next door (the rain had relented at this point). I spotted this bauble on a stick and I saw that I was reflected in its shiny surface so decided to make the most of it by raising my hand and waving it in the air (like you do!).
Once back home I carried on with my user manual training by delving yet further into the depths of white balance and it's many myriad ways. I had no idea you could do a white balance in live view so that's another tool in my technical arsenal!
