The Yard In Now Closed, Headcorn

It was a very grey day here today so we thought it best to just go on a short micro trip as the weather didn't look good. We were intending to visit Frittenden where we had never been before but somehow managed to get lost trying to find it. Instead we found ourselves heading to Benenden (where we had also never been). It was a very quiet village and we couldn't see an opportunity for our images for the day. We thought we could at least console ourselves with a drink at it's pub, The Bull, but it was closed so we decided to try and locate Frittenden again. Unfortunately, when we got there it was even quieter than Benenden and it's pub, The wonderfully named The Bell & Jorrocks,  also happened to be closed. Eventually, we chose to cut our losses and head back to Headcorn where we knew that at least The George & Dragon in the High Street was open (I'd checked on my phone).
When it comes to pubs we've never been to before we always grade them on the reception we receive. If the welcome is rude then we never go back, if it's brusque we don't take our glasses back and it is placed in the relegation ranks, if it's non-committal we take the glasses back and give them the benefit of the doubt (everyone can have an off day) and if it's effusive (the words "of course you can" are uttered to in reply to our beverage request along with a friendly smile) we more often than not will head back to it again to try out their food offering.The George & Dragon was very much in the non-committal category so we'll see.
Today's image was taken at The Yard in the High Street. It was a garden furniture and plant retailer but it was, I'll let you guess, also closed but this time permanently. I did like its steampunk vibe, though, so there was my picture of the day.
My user manual session today was a deep dive into the intricacies of white balance. Some of it I did understand but other bits left me scratching my head a bit so I 'll have another go tomorrow.
We've just watched the first episode of Bake Off tonight and it was great to have it back!
