Jessica's Jacket

I had to drop into the library today to pick up a book. I didn't know about the  art exhibition called Resurgence featuring works by Indigenous people who live on Salt Spring and come from various First Nations across Turtle Island. Some very beautiful work on display, including textiles, jewelry, prints, sculpture, and more. Some of the work is on the walls of one of the meeting rooms and other pieces are displayed throughout the library. Wonderful to see such talent! 
The artist is Christine Welsh, and she used glass beads for this beautiful example of bead work. Jessica's Jacket was one of my favourites.
