Diary of an Edinburgher

Archie poses on a different carpet

I got a mysterious letter today inviting me to the 'Neurophysiology' department at the hospital! For I am to have an 'electromyography' session, whatever that is.

I do have a sore/weak wrist and perhaps carpal tunnel, but it's not one of my most pressing problems. If I can't open a jar, I pass it to JR. If it does go numb in the night, I just clench my fist until it goes away. And I haven't had the strange pain that feels like a very thin needle being pushed into, and right along my thumb, for absolutely ages.  What can a neurophysiologist do? I'll be able to tell you soon.

I had to change my Covid injection for this. I also cancelled my appointment at the chemist re travel vaccination advice/administration. I was quite busy all morning, also arranging my emails into the proper iCloud folders.

I did manage a walk out with Archie, before we all set off to visit our pal Salwa, down in Morningside. I was SO pleased with Archie! He was SUCH a  good boy. He played a bit with a tennis ball he found, then just sighed and lay down in the middle of the room. And we were there for over two hours, with cake (made in Salwa's air fryer) and coffee, and he did not complain or get fidgety once.

When we came home I had another go at my lemonade scones...
I sifted the flour.
The lemonade was COLD.
I didn't muck about with the dough too much.
I used a knife to fold it together.
But I don't think I should put baking paper in next time, as it must stop the air getting all round the scones, with the result of chewy bottoms - I don't think that was ever a thing in Bake-Off... They are actually delicious, but not fit for visitors. I think JR should make her much more reliable scones tomorrow for our visitors.

My step count is up and running again, after I talked sternly to it.

7,928 steps. 5.7 kms. How far around Hong Kong would that get me?
