Horse power, foot power and pedal power.  During our walk on the edge of the hills we were passed by innumerable cyclists who were taking part in an event organised by PoppyScotland.   By the time they returned to Prestonpans they would all have tackled challenging hills and a long climb up into the Lammermuirs and covered 68 miles with some even travelling 102 miles via Duns.   They will have cycled through attractive countryside but probably had no time to enjoy the scenery.  Meanwhile we had plenty of time to watch a combine cutting barley, see sheep, cows and horses. rabbits and pheasants and feast on large juicy brambles from the hedges.
