Buzzard ( Buteo buteo )

As you can see from the blip a great day weatherwise.  I know we see Buzzards all the time.  For a couple of decades or more they have been the most common raptor in the country.  However drifting slowly along on a narrowboat makes it much easier to get a decent shot of one.  If one is soaring in the distance you move slowly and as far as the BUzzard up there is concerned quietly towards it.  On land you are either moving fast in a car or haven't time/energy to move towards it.

Buzzards are long lived birds with an average age of 12 having started breeding at 3.  The oldest proved by ringing was 30 years 5 months 21 days.
