Flashy Grass

I was experimenting with manual settings on my little  camera this morning, trying to isolate a subject using just the pop up flash.

In manual mode, I set the exposure to give an almost black frame (without the flash) and then switched on the flash to light mostly the grass..I was able to adjust the brightness by moving closer to and further away from the grass.

This shot worked quite nicely, but I want to try and get completely black background, so more experimenting will be needed.

Off to the the cinema in Doncaster this afternoon with son, daughter and eldest granddaughter…another bladder bursting 4.5 hours of Lord Of The Rings..part two, The Two Towers.
