Old Timer

The brewery attracts all kinds of unusual groups as a convenient meeting point, or stopping point on a tour, or somewhere with historic resonance with their interests. Cyclists, bikers, tractors, runners, Morris bands, horse and buggy - we have seen them all. There is a local classic car group that meet here monthly, and I've always thought would be a blip one day, but this is not them, this is an ad hoc tour by a group of 15 vehicles

I have no knowledge of the classic car world but the brass plaque on this one says it is a Renault Type VA, 1905. I have not been able to find out anything about this specific model. I did find that the Renault company was only created in 1898 and its first volume car - the AG1 - was also marketed in 1905. That makes it pretty early work. The car is only 4 years younger than the brewery tower, and thoroughly at home
