Celebrating
Picked Ruth and Eve up from their hotel, and took them first to Cacela Velha, an old Moorish village on a cliff, from which you get the view in extra. And then on to Vila Real de Santo António, where we had a coffee in the main square, and then got the ferry over to Ayamonte in Spain.
There Ruth got the message that her lost case had been found (will now be delivered to her house in England); we had just passed this gorgeous café on the main square, so went in and Ruth treated us all to a bottle of (excellent) Cava to celebrate. Had to be Cava, this was Spain!
We then followed my method of finding a good place to eat by asking a portly man (owner of the bookshop where I got three second hand books for three euros) for his recommendation (he had no hesitation) - and had a tasty lunch of varied tapas.
Gratefuls:
- another great day together
- another delicious gelato (in Ayamonte, right by the ferry), coconut and pistachio in my case
- getting safely home
