A thunderstorm last
evening left big puddles here
and there to drive through

I saw my brother out the door at 7 and I was just a few minutes behind. He is on his way to Edmonton while I was just going to MacArthur Island Park.

It is clearing this morning so the reflections in the slough are distinct. I got a shot of my mountains in silhouette before the sun came out from behind the clouds. I caught the light coming into the slough on the east side of the foot bridge. I looked into the water to see the reflection of the fading moon rippling.

The ducks were scouring the shallow water for whatever they can find. They have to walk from one side of the slough to the other as the water level is so low under the foot bridge.  One heron moved very slowly along the bank in the shady side.

I thought I was done and on my way home until I found a bouquet of helium balloons anchored on a bench along the Rivers Trail. Someone will be getting a nice surprise for their birthday today!

I'm hoping the flooring install is complete today. That will give us a quiet weekend and we can begin to put the house back together.
