Wednesday: Spirit Of Belize

Even though I stayed up in Belize City last night and tonight, I was back in Belmopan today, working from home.  It’s rather odd to have two nights in the same hotel punctuated by a day at home.  The reason for this oddity is that I’ve had evening events in Belize City on both nights and it’s not advisable to drive back too late at night.

Tonight’s event was an evening cruise.  I had mistakenly thought it was a dinner cruise but it can only be described as a nibble cruise, at best.  Still, I fell on the nibbles each time they passed so I didn’t fare too badly.  And it definitely was the nibbles coming to me, rather than the other way round.  It was a little choppy and I was concerned that my sea legs wouldn’t fare well if I had to stand so I just let everything come to me.

At one point we headed out into very dark waters with no discernible shore lights to be seen.  We were a little concerned that we were being hauled off onto the open seas but I’m pleased to report I’m safely back on dry land.
