I said, I love you, and that's for ever...
When I was little... Summers were always this hot.
Bare arms were a no no...
Being Scottish, and blue skinned, the sun instantly turned my skin red, blotchy and itchy.
Woolie cardies were the order of the day, and rue the day I ever left the house without it. Next in line was Calamine lotion and a cold sheet on top of mum's bed, while I am listening to everyone else shouting and laughing and playing out side.
I longed to be brown, and dancing around with everyone else.. but it was not to be.
Fast forward (cough cough) years, and no longer am I breaking out in heat bumps. No longer do I require calamine lotion, but bloody hell I do need that hose pipe and a regular hosing down.
My browning, aging, leather skin might be able to cope with greater ease with the sunshine, but my hormones are going wild in this heat. If I could bottle the energy I'm generating, i could heat the house for the winter.
