Stuff and Nonsense

West Kirby Marine Lake

Another glorious day - we are trying to make the most of it whilst it lasts.
We headed over to the Wirral today more for a bit of a walk than birding, although I did take my long lens in case there was anything about :)
We started at Meols and walked up towards Leasowe and back again, then drove over to Hoylake for the high tide. A group of birders were all discussing the possibility of a Yellow Legged Gull that they thought was there in the gull roost, but since nobody could relocate it, we gave up and moved on. After a quick supermarket meal deal for lunch we went to West Kirby Marine lake to see if there was anything happening - there wasn't.
The tide was just about out enough for the walkway to be dry enough to get all around the lake.  I liked the way the people stood out against the sunshine reflecting on the water. A few minutes prior it was like they were walking on water which I think would have looked better, but I had all my settings wrong and couldn't rescue the shots I'd taken.
