Chanterelle?

This may be a chanterelle. It meets the criteria with its white inside and golden outside. It is a small one. It is not exhibiting the forked and folded gills though. Maybe it is just immature?
We have seen quite large ones here in years past, but this year we are about 2 weeks early in visiting this park. The extra shows a mushroom rising out of the ground.
