Eastern Newt

We heard the rain bouncing off our roof last night but it wasn’t heavy and the wind was mild. During the day, it has rained on and off but it hasn’t been anything like was forecast. I have over 8,000 steps; maybe that says it all. We went to a boat launch after our showers to get my blip before the rained arrived. I was pleased with what I found and may go back to use it later in the week if necessary. After lunch, we decided the heavy rain may not materialize so we took a walk around the campground. We almost stepped on this tiny newt (~3 inches). We came upon a trailhead and hubby suggested we check it out. I had on my Sketchers, short socks, had not brought my inhaler but what the heck. Actually, I am glad we went. As I expected, the rain and dampness has certainly brought out the mushrooms. Cannot wait to check out other trails when it is a bit more sunny. We had rain showers during the hike but they were light. I was happy to change out of my wet clothes and shoes and enjoy a Gatorade when we got back to the camper. I made a chicken pot pie and froze it for this trip. We just have to bake the crust and ensure the interior gets hot. It is chilly under our canopy but I am fine outside with my blanket. So the weather did not ruin our day. I hope nothing negatively affected yours either. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such nice comments yesterday. “Precisely the least, the softest, lightest, a lizard's rustling, a breath, a flash, a moment - a little makes the way of the best happiness.” ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
