Mono Monday: Something from the kitchen

Thanks to Carolina for the Mono Monday theme of a still life from the kitchen.  This isn't strictly compliant as it isn't 'life' and never has been, but it does form an essential service.  A stainless steel meat carving plate, together with spikes for holding the joint steady while it is carved.

Incidentally, it isn't covered in hair.  The lines are the scratches it has picked up over around 60 years of Sunday lunches.  The plate was a Christmas present to my father back in the 60's from one of his suppliers (he was a fashion buyer for a department store).  They must have been a popular item at the time as I seem to recall we ended up with three of them in various sizes.
