I’ve Always Wanted A Bit Of Statement Driftwood…
… A walk on the beach was delightful today.
I have finished the less ‘worthy’ book that I brought for my relaxing read. And shall be heading home tomorrow morning.
I feel that, since Covid, I am somewhat robbed of a day of holiday. Most holiday cottages won’t permit arrival before 4pm and insist on departure by 10am these days. (Please leave the dishwasher empty and put all used laundry into the appropriately labelled bags, and empty all bins.. I.e. Please be up at the very crack of dawn and leave the cleaners nothing taxing to do.
I know.. And I wouldn’t anyway).
I know too, I know that I can pack the car early and then extend the final day (or even the first) by planning an exciting excursion… But somehow, when the car is packed (and dirty laundry is nagging from the boot) quite frankly the glitter of the holiday has swirled its way down the fairy lit and fragrantly diffused plughole already (maybe just me?).
Any road up.. It’s been an excellent break and without grumbling (I know I’m very fortunate in so many ways) it was much needed.
I was lucky with the weather. The sun shone every day. And many excellent meals have been enjoyed.
Soon home then.. Back to the mundane concerns of, ‘oh yes… The washing machine bit the dust just before I left… Lovely’.
What joy :-)
