Tuesday. A day of sunshine and showers
Fletch woke me at 7 so I took him for a 'pee' walk. Sunny but cold.. definitely too cold for September. Lovely views across the lake towards the Langdales and a pleasant walk with Fletch. I'm glad he was on the lead when he saw the huge rabbits. But he ran so fast he almost pulled me over.
Today was a No Car day. We walked.along the road to Stagshaw Gardens. It would be spectacular in May when all.the azalea and rhododendrons are in flower but it was pleasant enough and nice and quiet. There is only space for about 5 cars so it won't ever get busy. The paths aren't in good condition so.we had to watch our step.
We walked up as far as the woods before walking back and followed a path to Ambleside.
Blip is of an old oak tree growing over a rock.
Fletch did really well as it was quite a long walk for him.
It began to rain and we went into Hayes for shelter more than a look round. I realised I'd left his water bowl behind so bought him one as it had gone warm again and wed been out a few hours so I expected he'd be thirsty. But once I'd filled it with water he wasn't interested !
We planned to walk back to the hotel along the road as it was the shortest route but it started to rain again so we got the bus. There's one every 20 minutes.
Back at the hotel we had cake and a drink and sat in the sunshine in the bar looking at the view. It felt very warm, through the glass
