Rakhi

Rakhi is a Hindu tradition that I only know of through my Hindu friends, and now through my sister-in-law. This morning, in their matching pajamas, Mimi tied a thread around the wrist of her older cousin, Aaru. Then, Aaru gave Mimi a gift along with a silver coin. This symbolizes their bond and the protection that they will provide to each other in life. A very beautiful practice!
