Still as a mill pond
Tuesday
It was a great day for kayaking today, but not so much sailing, as there was virtually no wind. We had a lazy, relaxing morning. Suzanne had gone back home for the night last night, as she had some things to do, and without her to wake him up, Phil had overslept - he texted us at 10 to say he’d just got up. He wandered over later with his coffee in hand to check out our camper, which he hadn’t seen before. He told us another couple were arriving with their tent and kayaks about lunch time. Roger knew Bob many years ago at GE, but then Bob had left and changed to a different sort of engineering, but more recently R had run into him at the YMCA gym several times. Neither of us had met his wife Chris before. Once they had got set up, we arranged to go out kayaking with them. We had a great kayak, heading up one of the narrower inlets, where we saw a lot of birds, predominantly cormorants. We came to one large bay, which I nicknamed Cormorant Cove, since there were so many of them! As you can see from the top left image of my collage, a few trees are just beginning to turn. When we returned a couple of hours later, we had a cup of tea at our camper before going over to Phil’s, where Suzanne had returned, and another couple for the afternoon and evening. Later, we went down to the dock to see the sunset - see extra, then returned to our camper for a late dinner. A wonderful day!
