Everyone Needs a Sister Like Mine

Up and busy this morning. Changed all the linens so we could get laundry finished before we leave. Hubby checked and filled any tires that were low, with air. He loaded the camper with everything he and I had ready. After breakfast on the porch, I continued my pre-trip cooking. Made the country sausage and cooked six eggs for hubby’s breakfast sandwiches. Made the meatballs, cooked them and put them in marinara sauce. Cooked additional pasta noodles to go with leftover sauce and added it to our spaghetti. I made a terrific mess of the kitchen so decided to clean before tackling the baking. Our BIL had a plumbing job nearby so my sister stopped by for a visit. Did she sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee like most folks would? No way. She found the dish cloth and scooted me out the way. That’s the way she is. Always lending a helping hand. We are all certainly blessed to have her. I was able to concentrate on laundry and the peanut butter and chocolate chips scones. They aren’t as fluffy as my cranberry orange cream scones. And they are better with the peanut butter drizzle on them. I set aside four for Parker who is particularly fond of Gram’s scones. I still have to make the apple cake but that and the last load of laundry will wait until after 5:00 Mass. After folding a load of laundry, I just had to take a break. Don’t want to fall asleep in Mass. Wishing you a restful Sunday. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit. “Spending time with loved ones, while working to help others, is a wonderful way to inspire generosity.” - Joshua Rosenthal
