Waimea Valley
We visited the Waimea Valley Botanical Garden today. The weather was perfect with so many beautiful plants. It has an incredibly accessible waterfall which is a big plus for me now that we have a stroller. And they had life vests so that the baby could swim at the waterfall too! It was really wonderful.
I had hoped to see much of the North Shore today, but with a jetlagged baby, admitting that we have to do less in a day is a hard pill to swallow but probably a good lesson in life. So we were back at our hotel by 4pm, but not first without stopping at Matsumoto Shave Ice. I have a handful of favorites in Oahu and Matsumoto Shave Ice is one of them! The other is the Island Village Market where we can get yummy and quick grab-and-go Hawaiian food. Turns out that Mimi is a very big fan of musubi.
We rented baby gear as part of this trip and it was delivered to our accomodations on our arrival day. A crib, a booster seat for eating, a car seat, and a life vest. We spent the rest of the day at the lagoon swimming and splashing about, and enjoyed sunset on the beach, followed by dinner at Longboard's.
