State of alert

I spent a quiet day at home pottering in the house and the garden and took quite a few bird photos throughout the day. At one point in the afternoon there was quite a stramash with more corvids than I have ever seen from our house, all sounding a very noisy alert. There were at least ten crows, some jackdaws and six magpies all calling loudly at something unknown to us. They were very agitated but not at each other, some unknown threat was here and we were completely baffled.
In contrast the extra shows a very peaceful scene of a little chaffinch in the sun posing nicely.
