An early start . . . I was along Langdale before 8 o’clock. Parked at New Dungeon Ghyll and first walked east to get some photos up to Stickle Ghyll and Harrison Stickle. Then back through the car park. I was tempted by the board outside the NDG hotel that said ‘breakfast’ but kept walking. Through the fields to Old Dungeon Ghyll hotel, on to Stool End farm and a bit beyond.

I was surprised at the number of people around but it turned out that there was a ‘fix the fells’ work party.

Lots of oncoming traffic as I drove back along the valley but fortunately nothing big.

This afternoon I gave the store door another coat of paint before sitting down to look at all the photos.

I took the main as I walked through the farm. There are a lot more in the extras.
