If you can't beat them...

The "charts"

A very busy day.  Starting with a trip to Carlisle to pic up meds from Clickychick's appointment the other day, then a visit to Cranstons for some last minute purchases before we set off down to Staffordshire for another trip on Solace.  In the afternoon we took the bedding etc out to the lady who is cleaning the Lodge on Saturday followed by picking up the Volvo from the garage.  Then a few jobs that needed done before we depart.

The blip is an emergency blip.  It shows some of the things I find vital for a trip on Solace.  The books are guides with OS maps of each section.  Where we have been there are lots of added notes about good mooring places, nearby shops etc.  We know these jokingly as "the charts" those indispensable "maps" needed if you are at sea.  The key?  Firstly they must float hence the cork ball.  The "yale" type key is a waterways key that gives you access to water points, toilets showers etc as you move round the system.  The other key?  Well it lets us into Solace otherwise we would go nowhere.
