Tracking On The Tilt, Aylesford
Today started with a longer run with my brother. The temperature was definitely autumnal but it was also gloriously sunny so although we were cold we thoroughly enjoyed our trot.
Soon it was time for my next new camera instruction manual one hour session so I "focused" on learning yet more about shooting via live view. Today's image was taken using the tilting monitor in live view with subject tracking in AF-F mode. I think this will come in very useful when I need to shoot from a low viewpoint (as in this shot) or from above my head looking downwards. As a first go I was rather pleased with the result! I find if I can have a practice, take in something visually and make my own notes I can pick up technical things more quickly than just looking at a dry text or manual. It certainly makes a difference from where I used to work. We were often given no training at all with new cameras. The user manual was often chucked at us and we were told to just get on with it. This proved very difficult as we usually had other pressing studio deadlines to get on with so there was so little time to absorb new information.
