GR20 ridges and rocks
A 4am chorus of alarms for breakfast in our cabin and off Hiking by 5am. We pause to admire the stars and Milky Way, nearly get run over by a grumpy mule train and arrive on the col just in time for sunrise where Walt gets another professional photoshoot. Interesting memorial to a WW2 parachute drop of arms from UK and USA with which the Corsicans liberated themselves. A beautiful ridge hike and picnic at deserted shepherd hut with dilapidated table overrun with lizards. Our last camping night, very basic, dinner served outside on the terrace as the sun sets. At 10.30pm we are all woken by the helicopter circling and landing to evacuate a sick hiker.
