A long day’s hike on the GR20

Predawn breakfast in the boys dorm before setting off for 28km up and over a col and into a long traverse on easy paths. At times great views out to the sea. In the aftermath of yesterday’s storm we meet lots of salamanders in the wet woods. And the col is so windy our smallest team member is blown off her feet. Our next gite has a welcome big open fire - where they’re grilling steaks for dinner (omelette for me). And we get a spacious cabin with bunk beds for the night. Main pic an endemic gentian
