Icy Day 10

First we had a zodiac cruise to 2 glaciers. Monacobreen. We saw numerous calvings on one. Others saw a walrus but we were with DJ the rock expert who recapped all he’d told us about rocks before.

After we got back some people did the Polar plunge. (None naked like Jenna in Antarctica).

After lunch we went on zodiacs for a walk to the Texas Bar (an old hunter’s hut) and over the tundra with the Norwegian young woman to a waterfall. It was all a bit underwhelming but on the way back we saw an Arctic Skua and its young one plus a bearded seal. We had a group photo then headed back from the shore to the Texas Bar hut where there were loads of groups congregating. It really was a bar with the crew serving cocktails or any other drink. We had G&T (large!) with lime and chatted to Lisa and John (who did the plunge and normally does kayaking instead of the walks).
