Lacock Abbey

Lacock Abbey, a stop off on our way to Dorset for a somewhat late summer/autumn break. An abbey for a number of centuries, then a private home after the dissolution of the monasteries during the reformation. One of the more recent owners, William Henry Talbot in the 19th century devised the first method for producing  photographic negatives which could be used to produce multiple prints. This was without doubt the starting point of the photographic revolution.
