Delays, Detours, and a Perfect Practice

MONDAY

The day started early – or at least, I did. Up at 6:50, ready for the bathroom fitter, who had promised to arrive "first thing" to prep the en-suite for the flooring contractor scheduled this afternoon.

True to form (and not so much to his word), he arrived at 11:10 – cutting it close, as the flooring contractor showed up early at 11:30.

Nevertheless, progress was made! The floor is now boarded and skimmed, with the Karndean flooring set to go down on Wednesday. Fingers crossed the bathroom fitter returns promptly afterward to finish the job and refit the sanitary ware as timing seems to be a bit of a challenge.

This afternoon, with the sun shining, I navigated my way out of the village avoiding the closed roads (see yesterday's blip) towards Rhuallt. It was a bit of a stop-start journey due to lots of diverted traffic coming in the opposite direction not to mention the impatient prat driver in a Range Rover who was speeding through the narrow lanes and blind bends.

I made it through unscathed and arrived in Rhuddlan for a quick bowls practice before tomorrow’s match. The practice went well. As captured in today’s Blipfoto, I managed to place both woods within millimetres of the jack while bowling a length of about 36 metres. I hope that I can recreate that form tomorrow!

Then a brief stop at Sainsbury’s for some essentials: bread, ice cream, and fruit.
