Road Works Ahead

SUNDAY

It seems like the upcoming week will bring another attempt by the utility companies to isolate our little village. There are signs up on two of the four roads leading out, announcing that roadworks will begin tomorrow, September 9th. With all our roads being narrow lanes lined with ditches it looks like Monday is going to be... well, interesting. 

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon an old roadworks oil lamp in an "antique" shop in Ruthin and after a little hunting around, I finally managed to get my hands on some paraffin and new wicks. So a bit of nostalgia in the garden although the lamps that I remember were always painted red
