The Park #6
Another from my own little series on Edinburgh's Royal Botanic Garden. I last visited at the beginning of May and, my goodness, what a difference. The temperature today was a conservative 30 degrees (36 recorded at 6pm in my car tonight!) and I could see the effect that days of hot sunny weather has had on the grass of days of hot sunny weather; the lush green is being replaced with dry brown patches.
This is an image of the mid victorian Palm House, a favourite piece of architecture for me. It measures 50 foot in height to the top of the stonework with another 11 foot added for each glass dome totalling 72 foot altogether. Very grand and very impressive. For the record, I didn't venture inside though; goodness knows what the temperature might have been!
Down memory lane ...
here, here, here and here.
